This is an overall dump of my thoughts during my first time viewing of From's third season's eighth episode, Thresholds.
Oh, Christ. Boyd took Fatima out into the woods to buy time for them to come up with some way to, what, cover up Tillie's murder? Do what Sara did and make it look the monsters got her? Great, and this gives Miss Itchy Finger a reason to think she's in power. Great. And, maybe even worse, Donna's just pointed out that Sara is the one who's going to get blamed for this! Boyd's going to have to choose between protecting Sara, who has redeemed herself after being manipulated into killing, and protecting Fatima, who is actively a threat and supposedly not even in control of herself!
Jim, get the fuck off my screen.
And Elgin's poking around in the drugs. Fuck. What's he planning? I can't tell what he grabbed...
Julie, what the fuck. Tell me you're not planning to take your baby brother to the place the worms came from!!??
Jim, KILL YOURSELF. Jade, KICK HIS WORTHLESS ASS. Bless you for fucking standing up to his condescending, misogynistic, vile ass. Jim is so fucking jealous of you!
Ellis, she might very well stab you or your fucking dad next. Get a grip!
Oh, great, now Fatima's seeing Kimono Bitch.
Uh, Elgin? Why are you draining out your own blood??? What the fuck? And why are you taking orders from a polaroid camera?????
Yeah, Henry (or whatever your name is), GET HIS ASS!
Jesus fuck, Julie did take him there. I take it back, she's no better than the rest of her dumbass family. Yuck. Get rid of all of them! Oh, you dumb, stupid idiot. What was your plan here? How's your little brother supposed to fucking help you? He's like six?
Ellis, you're a fucking idiot!
Woah, what the hell. Timey wimey! Julie threw the rope down for Boyd when Martin couldn't. Because she's, like, flashing around in time???
Yeah, bro, I'm not sure Donna is on Fatima's side right now. Yep. There it is. And Donna's the one who's right here. This whole thing is an attempt to turn the town against Boyd to get rid of him because he's doing more or less a good job. That's why they've been singling Boyd out. They want the people to kill him (or at least violently turn on him). Also, it might be a sort of revenge for what happened to that one creature who died via worms.
But anyway! Victor says Christopher had the dummy in the church basement (where the Father kept Sara prisoner for a while), and he walked in on it "telling secrets" that made Christopher angry. So was Christopher—? Wait, shit, no, bait and switch! It wasn't the dummy that was talking to Christopher; it was the boy in white. I... dunno what to do with that?
"The answers to the end are at the beginning. That it started with the children. What the others did to them. The people they loved. The people they trusted. He said the children were born in the dark. And then they were murdered in the dark. But someone who loved them told them a story, and the story gave them hope. And when the children laid on the stones, they poured their hope into the roots to make the symbol, and those roots became the tree." ("The farway tree," Sara says.) "The boy in white was trying to tell Christopher that to save the children, he would have to go through the tree. But he wouldn't listen. He got angry. Christopher wouldn't listen, so I— Christopher wouldn't go to the tree, so I told my mother what the boy in white said. And that's why she left us."
Well, then.
Ah, fuck. Elgin's at Fatima's place. And I assume he brought the bag of blood he drained from himself. He's going to make it look like she was assaulted and dragged away, maybe? Killed, with the body being who knows where? I mean, he's not going to, like, force-feed her the blood, is it? She was drinking it from Nicki's corpse...
Oh, no, damn. He's luring her into that cellar because "Ellis is waiting for you" down there. Girl, you gotta use your brain better than that! Why wouldn't Ellis come and do this himself?
"There is no baby." "Yes, there is! It's just not yours." ELGIN, WHAT THE FUCK. Whose do you think it is, then???
Oh, lordy.
