[Thoughts on First Watch] From 1x10 - Oh, the Places We'll Go

Published February 9, 2026

What the hell is this?

This is an overall dump of my thoughts during my first time viewing of From's tenth episode, Oh, the Places We'll Go.

And now for my notes.

"Did you know if you cut a worm in half, it grows back into two worms?" No it fucking doesn't, you idiot. This is why I don't like you. (I mean, it's more of the whole unnecessary violence thing, but I guess this kinda is a bit of stupid violence, isn't it?)

Oh, no, they're in a giant spiderweb. Shelob, get outta here!

Am I supposed to care about the deputy and the doctor's little romance? Because I just... don't. Also, the bartender is barely a character, and friendly reminder that if the guy killed in the box was guilty for his family's deaths, the bartender was similarly guilty. And for all I really like Fatima, I don't give a fuck about her romance with Ellis. I mean, y'all're a handsome couple and everything, but I just don't care.

Yeah, bro, foghorn + searchlight/floodlight = lighthouse. Why's there a lighthouse in the forest, I can't begin to guess.

Oh, goodie, Boyd is hearing voices now, too. That's gotta be a trap. You know that's not your wife in there. Can the spiders mimic voices, too? And they're biting him, great. That'll end well. This'll either be The Mist—or worse, Cloverfield.

I'm much more interested in whatever Victor's up to right now. Where'd he end up? (The lighthouse??)

Oh, great, Boyd's losing it within less than two days outta town. Goodie. That better be spider venom fucking you up, tough guy. Moron.

So they're building a radio tower with all the town's electricity or some shit, and there's a big-ass thunderstorm coming. This'll end well. (Do you think the storm is coming to destroy the radio tower?)

You know what? I love a lighthouse in the woods, I take back all my misgivings. A weird inexplicable lighthouse is 100% what I wanted from Annihilation.

THE VOICE ON THE RADIO KNOWS JIM'S NAME. "Your wife shouldn't be digging that hole, Jim." Oh, boy. That's the spooky shit I wanted. Girl, where are you?

Oh, hell, Victor's here. "This is where they sleep." THEY SLEEP UNDER YOUR BASEMENT? And they've drawn all over the walls (including the symbol that Jade's been seeing).

Well, the sheriff's on the posters, so he's not going to die. BUT ALSO THE BOY IN WHITE IS HERE AND HE'S SPEAKING TO SARA TELEPATHICALLY SO OK COOL I GUESS. "Nathan was right about this place. It's angry now." Really?

Oh, shit, she stuck him in a fucking teleportation tree, and he teleported into like a fucking chimney or some shit, omg.

lmao, is that a bus of fucking tourists pulling into town? Good, lord. So is the town angry and so it decided to grab new people, or is it angry that there are new people coming? Surely the timing can't be unrelated...
